WE CAN ALL LEARN FROM ANTHONY BOURDAIN

WE CAN ALL LEARN FROM ANTHONY BOURDAIN

When we lost the great food connoisseur and media personality Anthony Bourdain, we lost more than a talented chef and television celeb. Bourdain had the ability to squeeze a geography and socio-political courses into a culinary class. He wouldn’t simply take your television screen to a single kitchen in a foreign country. He would give you the good and bad history of that region and unflinchingly explain exactly how the produce and prepared meals lived in that history. He managed to use harsh ingredients like racism and Western Imperialism, yet still produce a delicious dialogue.

Author and University Professor Sarah J Jackson  wrote a stellar Op-Ed piece on Bourdain in the New York Times, where she reminded us just how mighty Mr. Bourdain lived. Read up on the late great man and let’s all keep his work alive.
