U.S. ECONOMY BOOMING YET DOOMING
After Robert De Niro accused President Trump of having a low IQ and jokingly suggested that he may be “punch drunk,” the Donald’s retort focused on the status of America’s economy. He fired back on Twitter: “…the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country. Wake up Punchy!” While it is true that unemployment numbers are down and banks are flourishing, Americans still have a major economic issue: most can’t afford to live in America.
It still relatively impossible for those making minimum wage to live decently. Even those who make more than minimum wage are being financially choked. The attribution is pretty clear: Inflation and housing costs are higher than it’s been in years and American’s credit card debt has ballooned. In a nutshell, the country’s economic system remains designed in favor of the rich, while suffocating the poor. There’s just no getting around it.
