THE WEIRDEST OF THE ZUCKERBERG HEARING

Earlier this week, Facebook King, Mark Zuckerberg testified before Congressional members regarding the Cambridge Analytica data breach and his company’s role in it. The purpose of the hearing was to attain clarity on the breach and basically figure whether Facebook’s growth has become a threat to this country. At least, we assumed as much.

We also assumed a hearing of this magnitude, hosted by political bodies of such grand stature, would be conducted with all the professionalism it deserved. Throughout the two day hearing, that wasn’t always the case. Members of Congress, at times, appeared to be more Zuckerberg/Facebook fan than the antagonist. Some brought up their children’s social media habits and interests they’ve personally shared on FB. Others made bad jokes. Many seemed severely uneducated on modern technology.
