EXACTLY WHY IS BARNES & NOBLE DYING?

Last decade, Barnes & Noble and other big book stores were viewed as the capitalistic enemy–attempting to crush local literary shops. These days, the once big fish appears to be the prey of a larger orca: technology mammoths such as Amazon.  The problem with this big-eat-little irony is that the larger, more popular digital companies aren’t invested in the health of the publishing world. The literate community is directly affected by the decrease of authors and readers of physical books. The rest of America is at the mercy of monopoly influence–from suppressed wages to a less competitive economy.
