2017 HOLDS RECORD FOR MASS SHOOTINGS

A recent report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation states that 2017 produced more “active shootings” in America than any other year in the 21st century. Of course, the high score came from last October’s mass shooting in Las Vegas, where a lone gunman killed 58 people while wounding 489.  Also unsurprising is the that the most “active shootings” occurred in the NRA capital of Texas. Guess which state is its runner-up. Yup, Florida!

What exactly is an “active shooting,” you may ask? According to this Time article, “one or more individuals actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area” (excludes gang and drug-related violence). It’s apparent that the good ole U.S.A. continues to allow the National Rifle Association (NRA) freedom to value their profits above human lives. What a time to be alive.
