YEA OK&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What\u2019s your kryptonite when you\u2019re trying to establish healthy eating habits? You know, that thing that always creeps up after you have sworn yourself to a new eating style. \u00a0You vow to \u2018give it up\u2019 or at least reset your expectations yet that \u2018thing\u2019 seems to be everywhere you look. For me, it\u2019s sweets, specifically doughnuts and especially for Krispy Kream (sorry Dunkin lovers). Literally every time I am Penn Station I have to make a conscious decision if I will go to Krispy or not. \u00a0This is problematic, \\especially when trying first adjusting to a healthier lifestyle. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wellvyl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/audrey-fretz-549297-unsplash.jpg\"><img alt=\"\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-58734\" src=\"https:\/\/wellvyl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/audrey-fretz-549297-unsplash-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Just one won\u2019t hurt, right\u2026<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is technically correct. One of anything won\u2019t hurt you, in fact, we all could strive for a more \u201cmiddle way\u201d approach to structures of health in our lives. \u00a0But when you are beginning a new health regime having that \u2018just one\u2019 can have a deeper influence on your mind. When we set goals for ourselves and then lax on the accountability it makes the reward less sweet. \u00a0We open space for excuses and doubt in our abilities to reach our set goal. So, what do we do? <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Enter the \u2018healthy\u2019 dessert<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nowadays there is a spin on everything when it comes to health. \u00a0Desserts are no different. Lately, there has been an increase of \u2018healthy\u2019 desserts that would make even the most avid weightlifter swoon. The secret? \u00a0Instead of using heavy flours, butter and sugar bakers opt for protein powder, lighter flours (such as coconut or oat flours), applesauce and bananas, and natural sweetener (such as maple\/ agave instead of refined sugar). The results are the same(ish) taste but with lower cholesterol, carbohydrates and sugars. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Where do I find such things?!?!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ready to lace up your shoes and jog (or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wellvyl.com\/plogging-nyc\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">plog<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) to the nearest location for these powerful protein packed treats? The health industry knows America has a sweet tooth and as a result, there has been an increase of options for these spin of our childhood delights. \u00a0If you\u2019re into baking and experimenting in the kitchen there are plenty of recipes online. (Seriously, Google \u2018easy protein doughnut recipes and a plethora come up that will align with your dietary needs.) Baking not for you?
